Schools

The success of the matches against schools in Melbourne, and for a period in Adelaide, and their acceptance of their value by the schools, resulted in an expansion of fixtures to where now, the Crusaders often play two games each week.

Awards

An annual award is presented to the school that has excelled in performance, attitude, organisation and presentation of their match.

 
 
A number of the boys who played in the VSCA Under 18 Carnival were among the tour group to New Zealand.

VCA/Crusaders Cup

The Secondary Schools are incorporated in the youth program through the development of four regional zones in metropolitan Melbourne which participate for the VCA/Crusaders Cup.
Talented players are nominated by schools and clubs to form a squad called the "Crusaders Colts". This squad provides promising players the chance to be coached by some of Australia’s leading coaches and players over several weeks. Ultimately, trial games lead to the selection of a team which tours Victoria’s provincial centres to play matches against representative teams

The Colts are also able to take part in a week-long tour of New Zealand where they play against selected teams in the South Island.

Veterans

The Crusaders also has a veterans section for members who still like to play cricket and a regular fixture of matches is available each season.

Social Functions

On the social side, the Crusaders organises a Boxing Day Lunch during the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and also has a season launch events and a
presentation night to complete the year.
